If your strands are on the thinner side you know better than anyone that a good hair day is not that easy to attain. Thin hair results in flat, lifeless strands. If you need a little help to fake some volume then browse through these easy hacks to get you in hair-flipping mode in no time.

The Right Shampoo

Opt for a more revitalising shampoo that will get the follicles on your scalp to perk up. When shampooing, work your way around your head and massage the product thoroughly on your scalp, stimulating blood flow.

Avoid Hydrating Conditioner

Steer clear of anything that says ‘hydrating’ and ‘smoothing’ on the bottle because these most likely have oils in them that will keep your hair from gaining volume.

Use Coloured Hair Powder

Dry shampoo is great for blondes but using a coloured hair powder does wonders but for brown and black hair. Get some texture at the roots for volume and hide any excess scalp that you don’t want to see.

Hair Spray A Little

Look for hairsprays that have thickening or volumizing agents built into them. Use them to set your overall look by using a small amount at the root of your hair. Just make sure not to put in too much product – this can weigh your hair down.

Don’t Over Brush

Don’t brush your hair too often. This stimulates oils from the scalp, which makes hair flat. Instead use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to fix your hair.

Switch Your Part

Hair gets stuck in the routine of falling in the same place everyday, so changing your parting will immediately give it some lift.

Use Your Sunglasses

If you don’t naturally have volume and you let your hair air dry, it’ll lay flat against your head. Instead create volume while it’s drying so it’ll stay like that. An easy hack is to pull the front section back while it’s still damp with glasses/sunglasses and then push it forward to loosen it up a bit. Keep it like this until it dries.

Get A Haircut

Medium to short lengths are best for fine hair. The longer the hair gets, the more it weighs itself down, resulting in an even thinner/ stringy looking mane.
