DIY Banana Face Masks for All Skin Types

Banana is not just good for us to eat, but can also do wonders on our skin when applied externally. The potassium in it can prove to be hydrating for the skin, while the different vitamins can help heal damaged skin, produce collagen and help with oil control. Banana And Honey

Bananas are a rich source of Potassium and Vitamin A and E, which together make it a great organic source of moisture. Vitamin E also restores the skin’s health while Vitamin A evens out the skin tone. Mixing banana and honey together can help hydrate your skin and helps retain its moisture for a longer duration.

You need:

  • Ripe Banana – 1
  • Honey – 1 tbsp

Method:

  • Mash the ripe banana with a spoon in a bowl.  
  • Add a tablespoon of honey to this and mix to paste like consistency.
  • Apply this mixture all over your cleansed face and neck.
  •  Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse with lukewarm or cold water.

Banana And Yogurt

Yogurt being an antioxidant tends to minimise those stubborn wrinkles and fine lines. It also contains lactic acid which lightens the tan and tightens pores for younger looking skin.

You need:

  • Ripe banana – 1
  • Yogurt – 2 tbsp

Method:

  • Mash a ripe banana with a spoon
  • Add 2 tbsp fresh yogurt to this and mix till it’s a paste consistency. 
  • Apply this mixture all over cleansed face and neck.
  • Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse off with lukewarm or cold water.

Banana, Honey And Milk

The nutrients in banana help make the skin appear clearer while milk naturally brightens the skin. 

You need:

  • Ripe banana – 1
  • Milk – 4 tbsp
  • Honey – 1 tbsp

Method:

  • Blend the banana with milk.
  • Add honey and mix to form a paste like consistency.
  • Apply the mask on your cleansed face and neck.
  • Leave it to sit for 15 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with lukewarm or cold water.

Banana, Neem And Turmeric

Banana reduces inflammation and irritation, while neem and turmeric can help reduce acne and even have antibacterial properties. Together these three ingredients fight pimples, acne scars and blemishes.

You need:

  • Ripe banana – 1
  • Neem (paste or powder) – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp

Method:

  • Mash the banana with 1 tsp of neem paste or powder.
  •  Add 1 tsp of turmeric to it and mix all the ingredients to a paste like consistency.
  • Apply it all over your cleansed face and neck 
  • Let it sit for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse with lukewarm or cold water

Use this face pack once or twice a week, especially if you are breaking out or have oily skin.
