During Ramadan, you might feel the desire to pray in a mosque more so than during the rest of the year. And while most mosques don’t have a separate place for women to pray, fortunately we found a few that do! If you want to head to your nearest mosque for prayers or taraweeh, scroll down and see which one is in your location!

Karachi

Jamiya Masjid Bait Us Salam

Imam and Khattab Maulana Abdul Sattar (known for his sermons), runs Masjid Baitussalam. Various islamic scholars offer guidance to both men and women who come to pray at the mosque, and educate themselves about Islam.

Masjid-e-Ali Mosque

Every year, Taraweeh is performed at Masjid-e-Ali. It includes a separate area for women to pray, as well as an ablution area.

Islamabad

Lal Masjid

Since January 2006, two brothers – Abdul Aziz and Abdul Rashid – have run Lal Masjid. For women, there is a separate washroom and prayer area present.

Faisal Mosque

Faisal Mosque is situated in Islamabad and is amongst one of the largest mosques in South Asia. They have a separate floor (the 2nd floor) for women to pray.

Lahore

Badshahi Mosque

The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb built the Badshahi Mosque between 1671 and 1673. The mosque’s exterior is carved red sandstone with marble inlay, and it’s an important example of Mughal architecture. It is the second-largest in Pakistan and the largest Mosque of the Mughal period. It has a segregated area for women to pray, however women need a headscarf at all times.

Grand Jamia Mosque

The Grand Jamia Mosque is Pakistan’s third largest mosque and the world’s fourteen largest mosque. It can hold 25,000 worshippers indoors, with a total capacity of 70,000 in the courtyard and corridor leading to the main halls of worship. A section of the mosque’s second floor has been designated for women.
