With new designers come fresh ideas, innovative designs, and something out of the box completely – whether you’re the bride or a guest; these are the ones you should watch out for this wedding season if you want to wear something which isn’t mainstream yet. You’ll truly stand out.

If you don’t know where to start, browse through the designers below!

1. SFK Bridals

SFK Bridals, designed by Sadaf Fawad Khan offers bridal couture, as well as luxury formal wear by the talented wife of the iconic Fawad Khan. The designs are contemporary and are based on an elegant, minimalist ethos, while not betraying traditional workmanship. The brand may be new, but it has already created a huge name for itself due to its stunning designs, and unwillingness to sacrifice on quality.

2. Jeem by Hamza Bokhari

Jeem by Hamza Bokhari has come a long way as a brand since its inception, which was only a few years ago. Hamza Bokhari is one of those designers that aren’t afraid to experiment with colour, new styles of embroidery, or unconventional designs. The pay off for this being he’s earned our respect and rank as a leader of the pack rather than a sheep – he’s definitely one to watch.

3. Zuria Dor

Zuria Dor is a young brand started by sisters Kinza and Madiha Latif, who have a passion for design. The brand has established itself by sticking to the motto ‘less is more’ when it comes to bridal and formal wear. These designers prove that you can have it all in one outfit without going over the top.

4. Sehrish Rehan

Though a fairly new designer, Sehrish Rehan is on our radar. She’s already created a large name for herself with her trendy styles and cuts, and unique silhouettes. Her clothes are infinitely wearable and comfortable, with an undeniable element of sophistication to them. These are all the hallmarks of a true classic aesthetic in the making, which can be worn and re-worn without ever going out of style. She’s gearing up to become a true favourite in Karachi’s fashion scene.

5. Hussain Rehar

Hussain Rehar caught everyone’s attention this past year. What can we say – his designs were just that good! But other than his athleisure items, the designer has just stepped into the world of couture and formal designs. They are perfect examples of formal wear steeped in rich, cultural motifs and materials, inspired by the native kaam of various parts of the country. Hussain has spun these in a distinctively edgy, and modern way. He’s a true jack of all trades.

6. Ansab Jahangir

Ansab Jahangir is another young designer who has built her brand on keeping things elegant and ethereal. Her bold use of accent tassels, beading, and fun colours set her clothes apart. There is something so fresh about her clothes, you’ll definitely stand out in any outfit.

7. Natasha Kamal

There’s a clear western influence in Natasha Kamal’s clothes, and that is what makes her bridals and formals so fascinating. The designs are unique, edgy and very chic, while the marriage between east and west strike just the right notes. The designer truly believes in minimalism and doesn’t adorn her clothes with an excess of embroidery – and that’s what makes her clothes just so effortless.

8. Nada Shah Designs

Having started her label earlier this year with delicate semi-formals, Nada Shah has now also stepped into the world of formals with her latest collection. From timeless pieces like velvet kaftans to vivacious chunri and kamdani silhouettes – Nada has a collection that in a way serves as the perfect capsule collection for every young girl’s wedding wardrobe.

9. Anaam Chaudhry

Anaam Chaudhry’s Jahanara collection was one to note – featuring beautiful pieces with an old world charm. Deep reds, the classic shalwar and opulent gold embroidery – and all done tastefully. This is one designer who is definitely on our radar!
